The Colchester MESH Group was formed in 1990 and we are a registered charity serving sufferers (family & friends) from mainly Colchester and the surrounding area of North East Essex. Membership is free, and currently we have about 200 members.

We have a fully elected committee, comprising of a Chairman, Vice Chairman, Treasurer, Secretary, Newsletter Editor. Our Medical Advisor is Dr A. Chaudhuri, DM MD PhD FACP FRCP Glasg FRCP Lond, Consultant Neurologist & Clinical Lead in Neurology. Dr Elizabeth Dowsett (Hon Consultant Microbiologist) has been our Medical Advisor for several years but is unfortunately unable to continue.

Members receive a quarterly newsletter and new members are sent a pack of useful information about the disease. Meetings are usually held quarterly at the RAD Hall, Walsingham Road when there is usually a guest speaker. We have a wide variety of guest speakers on subjects of interest to ME sufferers.

The Group is affiliated to Action for ME.
